CALL TO PRAYER for Muslims during Ramadan |
Ramadan is the Islamic month of fasting, a season when Muslims are more spiritually alert and diligent. It is also the month when, for 30 years, Christians around the world have prayed—persistently—that as Muslims practice the rituals of their faith, they would come into a living relationship with Jesus Christ the Messiah.
April 17 is when Muslims in Canada and around the world will celebrate what they call the Night of Power (LAYLAT AL-QADR). Muslims believe the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Muhammed on this night and that it is the only night when sins can be forgiven, and prayers answered. They pray for mercy, forgiveness, and salvation. Some stay awake praying all night.
CCCOWE Canada and Outreach Canada/Loving Muslims Together (LMT) have partnered together to proclaim the Gospel through Chinese church ministries to individuals and families among Muslim communities across Canada.
You are invited to join this online event where you will be encouraged to hear about this forming partnership and pray with like-minded individuals for the almost 2 million Muslims whom God has brought to Canada. You will have the opportunity to pray in Mandarin, Cantonese, or English in separate break-out rooms.
You will hear from Lorna Johnston, the Outreach Canada Diaspora Ministries Team Leader, and Chairman of the Loving Muslims Together Network about what those two ministries are about. Cristina Boersma, the National Coordinator of the Loving Muslims Together Network will share how God touched her heart to love and share the gospel with Muslims, and the resources that the LMT Network has to offer to help Christians engage in God's mission for Muslims in Canada.
