Loving Muslims Together (2024 Feb)

The evening of March 10 marks the beginning of Ramadan this year when Muslims in Canada and around the world will begin fasting and praying. According to the Islamic calendar, Ramadan is the 9 th month, and Muslims believe that it was the month that their holy book, the Koran, was first revealed to the Prophet Mohammad. Muslims put their beliefs into practice by following the five pillars of Islam, Ramadan being one of them.

You are invited to hear an inspiring testimony of a former Muslim man who found Jesus in his quest to find the truth. Our special guest will share about being born and raised a Muslim in Canada by Pakistani parents, how through the friendship with a Christian friend as a child who planted the seed of the Gospel in his heart, many years later he came to know Jesus as His Lord and Savior.

S shares that in his early adulthood life, he took the spiritual pilgrimage of the Hajj and visited the two holiest sites in Islam, Mecca and Medina. He shares that “later in life I stopped practicing as a Muslim. The emptiness of Islam and all the ritual prayers that were done in Arabic, a language most Muslims don’t understand, just did not make sense anymore, along with many other reasons.”

In this online prayer and learning event you will hear about S’s journey to Jesus, his explanation of what Ramadan is and why it’s celebrated by Muslims in Canada and around the world, and suggestions of how Christians can walk alongside Muslims Background Believers (MBBs), particularly during Ramadan.
